As the big holidays approach, gift sales are also picking up. For many years, traditional Christmas gifts for children have been replaced by modern ones – the most popular toys are finally being replaced by the latest computer games. Computer games are not only attractive to young people: they are also receiving more and more attention from an older audience. Judging by the number of sales, it is already clear that there will be even more such gifts this year.
According to statistics from various years, in late November and early December, game sales around the world increase by as much as several dozen percent compared to other months of the year. This is influenced by both new game releases, which, as a rule, increase significantly before the holidays, and various holiday sales, which allow you to purchase the desired games much cheaper than usual.
New games are the most popular
Lithuanian-created game sales platform Eneba was launched, where games are offered at extremely low prices. Its head Vytis Uogintas says that it is extremely difficult to predict the champions of the holiday period, but several clear trends are already visible.
“As we expected, our best-selling games for personal computers are Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Football Manager. Although these games are leading our sales chart, older games that are subject to holiday season discounts are also hot on their heels,” said the head of the Eneba platform.
The holiday season is just getting underway, so it is quite realistic that old games that are especially popular with players can easily overtake new ones. New games are followed by well-known favorites such as Fallout 4 or Grand Theft Auto 5.
